Style Me Pretty features Austin wedding :: Heather & Rob, Part II

June 3rd, 2011  |  Posted in published work, weddings

Today it’s all about the gorgeous details as we dive into Part II of Heather and Rob’s Austin wedding at The Allan House. If you missed Part I, hop on over and take a look because you really should meet these two before jumping into the details.  You can see more details and read Heather’s description of their wedding at Style Me Pretty.  We’ll be right here waiting for you.  Ready?  Ok, let’s go.

A big thank you to my second shooter, Nathan Lindstrom for his awesome skills.

What better way to set the tone for a book themed wedding?  A knock-your-socks-off wedding invitation book, of course!

Style Me Pretty features Austin wedding :: Heather and Rob, Part I

May 30th, 2011  |  Posted in published work, weddings

I distinctly remember the first time I met Heather.  I was a nervous wreck because she had been referred by Rachel LaCour Niesen, a fellow photographer whom I greatly admire both professionally and personally. The pressure! Within minutes of meeting Heather I knew I just had to shoot her wedding.  She loves books, wine and chocolate and has a heart for helping others — a kindred spirit! And then I met Rob and I knew I loved this couple.  Rob indulges my geeky side.  He even brought a light saber to the engagement session and if you don’t know, I’m a big Star Wars fan!

I am thrilled that Heather and Rob’s wedding is our first wedding to be featured on Style Me Pretty because their celebration embodied the true essence of a wedding. Yes, it was a gorgeous, perfectly orchestrated affair, but what made it shine were the details and sentiments woven throughout the weekend were a reflection of Heather and Rob and a reflection of their gratitude for the family and friends gathered to share their wedding.

I got to spend a lot of time with Heather and Rob at their engagement session, Heather’s bridal portraits, their rehearsal dinner (coming soon!) and finally the wedding.  My one true hope is that the depth of character, emotion and nuances that I witnessed along the way are reflected in my photographs.  I wish you a life of love and joy.

Wedding Photography’s Perfect Complement :: Cypress Handmade Albums

April 28th, 2011  |  Posted in products, uncategorized, weddings

From the very first moment I considered focusing my photojournalism skills and experience on weddings I immediately knew I would offer Cypress Albums to my clients and I’ve never regretted that decision.  Every delivery from Cypress is a moment of celebration for me.  It begins the moment I rip open the delivery box, peel back the protective packaging and BAM! there it is — a beautifully packaged album begging me to open it, but very, very carefully because I can’t bear to disturb the perfectly tied ribbon and personalized tag.   It feels good in my hands, weighty but not cumbersome and my fingers explore the rich texture of the Japanese fabric and the silky Swiss ribbon.

Cypress describes their albums as “simple, unique and elegantly designed to highlight your images.”  I couldn’t agree more!
