It may sound like a cliche but getting to know a couple and being a witness to the first chapter of their new life together is such a privilege and when I cross paths with a couple like Jessica and Chad I’m reminded how fortunate I am to call wedding photography my “job.” I’m thrilled to call them friends and look forward to our next movie night.
Soon after Jessica and Chad started dating, he accepted an exciting overseas work assignment. Consequently, much of their dating consisted of meeting in foreign cities. Keeping with their travel theme, Chad proposed marriage to Jessica during a romantic trip to Paris.
They were married at the Second Baptist Church in Houston followed by a reception at The Junior League of Houston. With travel being a central theme in their relationship, it was only fitting that family and friends from around the country and as far away as Poland ventured to Houston for their wedding.
Looking back on their many travel photographs the couple noticed Jessica to always be holding a hot beverage. To complete their “hot-beverage-in-hand” photo collection, Chad planned a surprise stop at McDonald’s after their wedding for coffee!
Take a look!

Jessica and her Maid of Honor have fond childhood memories of playing Barbie together. Jessica tied these Barbie shoes to her bouquet as her “something blue.”
Dad! Their smiles say it all.

My husband Rick is quite a bit taller than I am, but these two take the prize! How could I not photograph this?
This was taken at the moment Chad surprised Jessica by jumping on stage with the band to sing Neil Diamond’s “I’m a Believer.” Wouldn’t you love to know what those girls are whispering?

Congratulations!
LOVE that shot under the tree. HOT!
Thanks! It’s one of my favorites too.
